Seriously bad customer service : Lipsy Milton Keynes
Be careful if you are shopping in Lipsy at Milton Keynes - my daughter chose a dress that was marked as £60 now £30 (sale price) however when she got to the counter the £30 was a 'mistake' and they wouldn't honour it. Though legally correct, you would think that they would make an effort with regards to consumer service and happiness, espeically a consumer right at the start of her purchasing life - evidently not, they don't even acknowledge emails: lets see what trading standards have to say with regards to 'the consumer protection from unfair trading regulations 2008'.

Forty children have died after a routine vaccination such as MMR and 2,100 more have suffered a serious reaction, UK health authorities have been forced to disclose this week – and these figures are just the tip of the iceberg. Two of the vaccinated children have been left with permanent brain damage, and 1500 others have suffered neurological reactions, including 11 cases of brain inflammation and 13 cases of epilepsy and coma. Overall, there have been more than 2,100 adverse reactions to a childhood vaccine in the UK in the last seven years. The UK’s Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) was forced to reveal the figures following a request from a journalist under freedom of information legislation.
The true picture is likely to be far worse. The MHRA cases are only those that doctors have reported; if the doctor does not believe the vaccine has caused the reaction, he will not report it. It is suspected that just 10 per cent of all deaths and reactions from vaccines are ever reported; if so, this means that 400 children have died from a vaccine and 21,000 have suffered an adverse reaction in the UK alone. The true situation will be far worse in countries such as the US where childhood vaccination is compulsory.
Last month, the UK government was forced by a court to pay damages to a mother whose son was left with severe brain damage after an MMR vaccination. Another 500 similar cases are currently going through the UK courts.These figures represent a major setback in the relationship between doctors and parents. Most parents have accepted the reassurances of doctors and health authorities that the vaccines are safe, and that they are doing the best for their child and the community.Now, if things go wrong, they may be less inclined to believe the doctor’s denials that the vaccine is to blame.

Seriously Good Service for sick computers in North Bucks
Always quick to grumble at bad service I thought it only fair to give Technical Support Department of Buckingham a mention.
Sick office computer - panic - calm down - remembered I used to go to a breakfast networking club with a guy that fixed computers.
Result: New hard drive fitted - less than 24 hour turn around and excellent prices.

Stevia the coverup part 3
Whoops - sometimes I need to wake up - as a Nature's Sunshine distributor I have just discovered I can buy this herb in powder form from the U.S. - I am searching for a source within Europe.

How much proof do you need that the multi-nationals actually work against our best interests?
How would you feel if I told you you weren't allowed to grow your own basil plants (or any other herb) as a large company was applying to have it patented it so that only they could process it and pass it on the cusomer at vastly inflated prices - outraged? Surely 'they' can't patent a natural product - oh yes they can - they are certainly trying!
Ever heard of Stevia? It is a herb that is hundreds of times sweeter than sugar - it has no calories and can be used by diabetics - it has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years in the far east - so why are we not all growing it and using it especially as the sugar and the artifical sweetners we use act as a poison to our bodies i.e. obesity, diabeties etc?
Why? because a certain multi-national corporation has applied for a patent and in the meantime Stevia is not allowed to be mentioned in certain circles so as not to alert the public. When you know about it you'll all want it and somone else wants to make money out of your want.
Patents on herbs - GM crops that you have to rebuy the seeds for each year - this isn't business this is control and domination of vast sections of the human race. Reminds me of the Nazis.
Anyway, at time of writing it is not yet illegal to buy Stevia on the internet - for starters see the link above. Good hunting and tasting.

North Bucks Incinerator - Apathy Rules?
Given the number of residents in North Bucks you would expect that a protest meeting to discuss the proposal to build a large incinerator that takes in waste from around the world with resulting serious health problems for local residents would be packed to the rafters wouldn't you? Sadly the residents of Winslow and the surrounding villages appear to be sleep walking to serious illness and early death because, if they carry on doing nothing they will soon be breathing in particles of heavy metals which cause heart disease, strokes, cancers and birth defects.
The prososed incinerator is of a technology that is actually banned in the USA and other parts of the world.

Hooked on Splenda? You'd better read this.
James Turner, the chairman of the national consumer education group Citizens for Health, has expressed shock and outrage after reading a new report from scientists outlining the dangers of the artificial sweetener Splenda (sucralose).
In animals examined for the study, Splenda reduced the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50 percent, increased the pH level in the intestines, contributed to increases in body weight and affected P-glycoprotein (P-gp) levels in such a way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected.
The P-gp effect could result in medications used in chemotherapy, AIDS treatment and treatments for heart conditions being shunted back into the intestines, rather than being absorbed by the body.
According to Turner, "The report makes it clear that the artificial sweetener Splenda and its key component sucralose pose a threat to the people who consume the product. Hundreds of consumers have complained to us about side effects from using Splenda and this study ... confirms that the chemicals in the little yellow package should carry a big red warning label."
