PH Balancing

Spotlight On:
PH Balancing

Have you ever seen a swimming pool that has been neglected? The water loses its lovely clear colour, it gets darker and darker and if nothing is done to rectify the problem then nasty ‘things’ start growing in it. For anyone who can remember their school chemistry lessons the water has started to turn acid and lose oxygen i.e. it is ph unbalanced as it moves away from being alkaline. Our bodies react in the same way to any of the following; long-term stress, illness, a poor diet made up of processed foods and/or a sedentary lifestyle. The result: the body becomes a perfect breeding ground for Cancer, Arthritis, M.E. and a whole host of other short and long-term health problems. Research has shown that an acidic imbalance will: decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease the body’s ability to repair damaged cells, decrease its ability to detoxify heavy metals, make tumour cells thrive, and make it more susceptible to fatigue and illness. If your swimming pool needs attention then a few handfuls of the necessary chemicals can have almost instantaneous results. The human body though requires a little more attention than a quick chemical fix. To rectify you should eat more fresh fruit and veg’ (preferably organic), start a regular exercise regime and consume foods that are alkaline forming e.g lemon in hot water, apples, sea vegetables, pineapples, Zambroza, herbal teas etc. Or, if you are totally at a loss where to start then you can come to Wishing Well for a lifestyle and diet assessment including a comprehensive list of alkaline and acid forming foods.
